Detection of defective viral genomes as a potential tool to predict Respiratory Syncytial Virus clinical outcome

27th May, 2021

Presented by: Prof Carolina B. Lopez
Hosted by: Dr Ulla Buchholz and Prof Dr Louis Bont

This webinar focused on the detection of defective viral genomes (DVGs). Understanding the kinetics of DVG accumulation and duration could predict clinical outcomes of RSV A infection in humans and thus, could be used as a prognostic tool to identify patients at risk of worse clinical disease. Through an interactive discussion and interview with prof. Carolina B. Lopez and co-host, dr. Ursula Buchholz, participants took lessons learned from these findings back to their own research.
