Mumbai, also known as the “City of Dreams,” is a fascinating destination that offers a unique blend of culture, history, and modernity. It is also a hub for business and commerce, making it a prime location for conferences and events.
Why Mumbai, India?
We are very proud to choose Mumbai as the RSVVW’24 conference destination since it aligns with our mission to increase awareness on the global burden of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), especially in low- and middle-income countries. In India, RSV is responsible for a significant burden of respiratory disease among children under the age of five. One study conducted in New Delhi found that RSV accounted for 21% of hospitalizations for acute respiratory infections among children under the age of two.
Prevention and management of RSV infections in India remain a significant challenge due to the lack of RSV-specific vaccines or antiviral therapies. However, efforts are being made to develop effective interventions to reduce the burden of RSV in India and other low- and middle-income countries.
